Graduate School of Precision Engineering

The Graduate School of Precision Engineering (GSPRE) at the University of Bern belongs to the faculty of science. Members of the faculty form the PhD Commission, which is responsible for the strategic orientation, the administration, the budget and the quality control of the PhD program.

An expert commission is responsible for the selection and evaluation of the PhD students and for guidance of the candidates through the PhD. 

One of the members of the expert commission is selected as a mentor of the PhD candidate. The mentor, together with the supervisor anf co-advisor of the project, decides on the individual training program for the PhD candidate. The mentor also serves as a mediator in case of conflict.
